Info about HARITHA HARAM in Telangana.

Recently the govt has taken strict initiatives to plant trees across the cities.The project is called as Haritha Haram. Few findings on this initiative.

The main target is to increase the Forest area by 33%(% of land area) from 22% at present.Based on world bank report the forest are in India is increased to 23.8 in 2015.The top states in India with high forest area are Mijoram(90%),Arunachal Pradesh(80%),Nagaland(78%),Meghalaya(77%) and Manipur(76%).*Data extracted from world bank report.

If we take the top districts in Telangana are Adilabad(37),Khammam(42),Warangal(23) respectively.The total forest area in Telangan is 26,90,364 Hectors.In that 40% is moderate and remaining 60% is dense forest.

So to increase the forest area the govt has undertaken this program.In this program govt  planting total 230 Cr plants.In this 100 Cr will be in forest area ,120 Cr in Normal places and 10 Cr in Hyderabad.As of 14th June 2016 they planted 6 Cr plants.For these govt has getting plants from 4312 nurseries.
